Volunteers have been the heart and soul of the Project.
Their hard work has made The Hut become one of the leading youth projects across Scotland. It is an integral part of what makes The Hut successful.
You can never have enough volunteers, as we work with 5 to 19 years, helping with the variety of evening sessions we provide during the week.
The varied life experiences of our volunteers help our members to see new dimensions in what they can achieve and how to get there. Volunteers can learn a wide range of new skills in The Hut, from teamwork and managing which they can take back to their home and work lives.
Over the years the project has attracted more than 100 youth worker volunteers. When we took over the lease of The Hall in September 2009 we had over 3000 voluntary hours of work done on the building to make it fit for purpose. There are not many organisations can boast that they completely refitted a community building in around a month.
We can help you to develop your skills and also support you to gain qualifications in areas of their and your interest.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and get to know the local community. It can also enhance your CV or improve your employment prospects.
All volunteers at The Hut will go through an induction programme and are offered further training and support.
If you are aged 18+ and interested in exploring the possibilities of being an adult volunteer at The Hut, get in touch.
